“On the morning of March 6, 2025, the ‘Diabetes Friends’ Club at Đồng Tháp General Hospital organized its new year gathering. Around 100 club members attended, and on behalf of the Hospital’s Board of Directors, Dr.
Châu Minh Đức, Deputy Director of the Hospital, delivered the opening remarks for the gathering. Dr. Châu Thị Phượng, Deputy Head of the Endocrinology Department, shared with members about diabetes, its complications, and ways to prevent these complications. Following that, Dr. Nguyễn Thị Thảo shared and answered questions about hypoglycemic medications, diet and exercise for diabetes patients, and how to monitor blood sugar at home. Dr. Thảo also introduced patients to the Elfie app, an intelligent and free digital application that reminds patients to take their daily medication, records, and tracks daily health indicators, helping patients manage their diabetes themselves and assisting physicians in quickly, accurately, and precisely assessing health status, disease risk, and medication adherence in patient treatment.
The gathering ended with joy, enthusiasm, and the promise of a happy and healthy 2025, with reduced severe complications for patients at the ‘Diabetes Friends’ Club, Đồng Tháp General Hospital.
